Four undergraduate programs at the Jacobs School of Engineering ranked in the nation’s Top 10 in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2027 Best Colleges ranking. The Jacobs School has 11 programs that ranked in the Top 10 among public schools. Full Story

New Imaging Platform Maps Cell Type and Metabolic Activity Simultaneously
Cells of the same type adopt different metabolic states depending on where exactly they sit in the tissue. Put another way, the metabolic activity of any one cell in a tissue sample cannot be inferred based only on what cell type it is. This is one of the insights made possible thanks to a new imaging platform developed by a cross-disciplinary research team led by bioengineers at the UC San Diego. Full Story

UC San Diego Engineering Graduate Students Named Siebel Scholars
Three engineering graduate students at UC San Diego have been named 2027 Siebel Scholars. The Siebel Scholars program recognizes the most talented students in the world’s leading graduate schools of business, computer science, bioengineering and energy science. Each scholar receives a $35,000 award toward their final year of study. Full Story
