Position Summary

The University of California, San Diego, Shu Chien-Gene Lay Department of Bioengineering, http:/be.ucsd.edu within the Jacobs School of Engineering, invites applicants for the position of Assistant Professor who demonstrate the highest standards of scholarship and professional activity in the areas of Bioengineering and Biotechnology. In addition to the highest standards of scholarship, teaching, and professional activity, the preferred candidate will have demonstrated accomplishments in areas contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a desire to participate in the School's diversity initiatives (http://idea.ucsd.edu/). The required job duties include developing an excellent high-quality, federally funded research program, teaching university students, and service activities. Assistant, Associate or Full Project Scientist in Bioengineering FY2023-2024

Position Summary

Bioengineering is inviting applications for Project Scientists (non-tenured; Assistant, Associate or Full level) in Bioengineering. At UC San Diego, Project Scientists are academic researchers who are expected to make significant and creative contributions to a research team. They are not required to carry out independent research or develop an independent research reputation but will publish and carry out research or creative programs with supervision by a member of the Professor or Professional Research series. Project Scientists may not serve as Principal Investigators but may serve as Co-Principal Investigators with members of the Professor or Research Scientist series. University and public service are encouraged but not required, and they do not have formal teaching responsibilities. Appointments are generally for two years, with reappointment reviews to renew. The duration of the appointment will vary depending on the length of the research project and the availability of funding in the Professor's lab that is hiring.
