The Latest on the Long-term Implanted Glucose Sensor

The development of a widely useful glucose monitoring technology has long been a bioengineering goal. In collaboration with our industrial partner, we developed a telemetry-based glucose sensor that can remain implanted in subcutaneous tissues of animals for more than one year. This talk will review the history of glucose monitoring, the sensor design features necessary for long-term operation of the sensor in tissues, and our recent experimental results.
