  4. Remaining graduate courses to complete 48 total units requirement (i.e. 28 units):

    • All graduate courses offered in the Departments of Bioengineering, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and Nanoengineering may be used to fulfill the remaining elective course requirement.  Graduate courses in the School of Medicine or in the Division of Biological Sciences may also be used to fulfill the remaining elective course requirement. Courses taken in fulfillment of the elective course requirement must be taken for letter grade. Other courses outside of the department may be approved by petition.

    • Up to 12 units of upper-division undergraduate coursework can be used to fulfill the remaining graduate elective coursework. These units are limited to the following courses given that they are typically required for admission to Medical School: BIBC 100 or 102, BICD 100, BIMM 100, BENG140A/B or BIPN100/102. Courses taken in fulfillment of the elective course requirement must be taken for letter grade. Other courses outside of the department may be approved by petition.
