Describe your background

I specialized in neuroscience and had a minor in artificial intelligence in my undergraduate study. Here at UCSD, I joined the Swartz Center of Computational Neuroscience for my research interest and participated in several research projects. I am aiming to look for jobs involving machine learning, data engineering for healthcare, biotechnology, or medical technology.

Describe your area of research and/or your area of specialty

My area of research focuses on applying machine learning and data-driven methods to biomedical data. During my studies, I worked on projects involving neural signal analysis and machine learning models, including transformer-based approaches for EEG data. More broadly, my interests lie at the intersection of bioengineering, artificial intelligence, and data science, particularly in developing computational methods to better understand biological systems and improve healthcare technologies

Describe your involvement within the department and UC San Diego

I joined the Swartz Center for Computational Neuroscience (SCCN) to explore my research interests and strengthen my academic experience. I was also involved in the Taiwanese Graduate Student Association, where I connected with fellow students and participated in community activities. It is unfortunate that I did not have the opportunity to pursue an internship last summer. I hope that future students will have more internship opportunities despite uncertainties related to government policies.

What has been your favorite part about your graduate experience in the program?

I don't really have a favorite one. I have enjoyed every part of my graduate studies, and this experience will remain one of the most precious memories of my lifetime.
